Stay Safe and Healthy and May You have a Blessed New Year
All of us are sick and tired of the Covid 19 disruptions that we continue to experience this year. Distribution of new COVID vaccinations gives us great hope that the end may be in sight.
With COVID-19 case numbers and positive tests dramatically increasing, both church councils have temporarily suspended in-person worship again. It's just not a safe time to gather right now. While it’s not a “mandate”, our Bishop has requested that we not meet in-person until the numbers come down. Other churches here are cancelling Christmas Eve services or only doing live-stream.
Therefore, we will;
Suspend all services at Martin Luther Church (INCLUDING CHRISTMAS EVE) until the first of 2021. We will reevaluate the situation the first of the year.
Have services in Faith Church that are closed to the public and Live-Stream Sunday Services and the Christmas Eve Service to members of BOTH churches.
To accompany the Live-Streamed services:
Holy Communion kits may be picked up at each church so members can commune during the live-streamed services. The kits will be in the plastic bin at the front door of the church.
Service Bulletins will be emailed with the Live Stream link.
We do not know what the future holds but we know WHO holds it. God is still in control and he continues to walk with us and hold us during this time of uncertainty. The joy that comes at the birth of our Lord Jesus will still be real amidst the current chaos. Our prayer is that the Holy Spirit will touch each one of us in a profound way as we experience a Christmas unlike any other in our lifetimes.
In His Name,
Pastor Tom Cassem

A Step by Step Guide for
Returning to In-Person Worship
Step 1 – Arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the 11a.m. service. You can talk with people outside if you wear your mask and stay 6’ apart. It will be best if you enter and exit through the main front doors.
Step 2 – We will be taking temperatures with a non-contact thermometer as you enter the front door. If you have a temperature, you will be asked to go home to protect everyone else.
Step 3 – Please use the hand-sanitizing station in the narthex to sanitize your hands on entering.
Step 4 – Pick up one pre-packaged, individual communion kit (grape juice) upon entering the Sanctuary. Touch only the kit(s) which you and your family will be using. Empty kits may be disposed of at the front door in a waste basket as you exit the sanctuary.
Step 5 – Offerings may be dropped in a basket as you enter or leave the sanctuary.
Step 6– We are not taking reservations at this point. Hopefully, we will have enough space to seat everyone and maintain social distancing. Alternate pews will be taped off to encourage social distance seating. Families can sit together, but different families must sit at least 6’ apart on pews. If yours is a family of 4 or more, pick a different pew.
Step 7– Bring and wear your face mask during the service. If you do not have a face mask, one will be provided for you as you arrive in the Narthex. Wear your mask at all times.
Step 8 – We will not be singing, shaking hands, hugging, or sharing the peace. Please respect people’s space.
Step 9 – Bathrooms may be used, but please use the wipes to sanitize fixtures and doorknobs.
Step 10 – Exit the sanctuary by the main front doors and observe social distancing of 6’.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!--Faith Lutheran Church Council and Security Team
